We get a LOT of posts from people having problems with their Zunes, so here is a simple guide about what to do to get your problem fixed.
*PLEASE NOTE: This is not an official Microsoft site and we are not affiliated with Microsoft in any way, so please don't write posts telling us how evil we are. We are Zune users just like you, and if you are having a problem, someone here may try to help you (if your are nice). Hopefully after you solve your problem you'll stick around, introduce yourself in the
Introductions forum, and get to know the community!
So without further ado, here's what you need to do to get your Zune fixed:
Step 1 - Search The ForumsThere's a pretty decent chance that you are not the first person to have the problem you are experiencing. Try searching our forums to see if your issue has already been discussed and resolved. (Click Search in the upper right of the page, or
Step 2 - Post A New Topic With Your QuestionIf you could not find a good solution to your problem, feel free to ask it here. Please look over the forums and pick the one most appropriate for your question.
Step 3 - Try The Store WarrantyAlmost every store that sells Zunes has some kind of return or exchange policy. If you are having a problem within the first two weeks of buying it, chances are good you can take it back to the store and they won't have an issue with you exchanging it for a new one. Many times you don't even need a receipt, depending on the store.
Step 4 - Try The Microsoft WarrantyIf it's too late to return it to the store, you may be able to return it to Microsoft for repairs or replacement. Microsoft offers a One Year Express Warranty on the Zune. Basically that means that if your Zune breaks within one year of the day you bought it, you can send it in. Call Zune directly at 877-GET-ZUNE to setup a return. Even if it has been more than a year, it can't hurt to call and plead your case.
