NEW Zune User Needing Setup Support -- Microsoft Being -- Not Helpful AT ALL!!!!

I had just bought an 80GB Zune Player earlier this month and followed the usual route on the Zune Site, for setting it up. When I go to Download the Software it comes up saying:

SYSTEM UPDATES REQUIRED:  Zune Software Installation can't continue until you've installed one or more required updates. This current version of Windows Media Center isn't supported.  Please upgrade your Media Center machine to 2005 with Update 2 or later. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949420?sd=zune 

My computer is Windows Media Center Edition, Upgraded to 2004 and when I try to update all of the recomeded updates for it, in order to Update it to Media Center 2005, it says that it can't, unless I have the Media Center 2005 Edition.  THIS MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL TO ME..... They offer an update for it, but won't let me update to 2005 from 2004????  Especially, since I paid GOOD MONEY for Windows XP Media Center Edition and GOOD MONEY for this 80GB Zune Player, ONLY to find out that they will NOT PROVIDE THE NECESSARY SUPPORT, TO ALLOW ME TO UPDATE TO MEDIA CENTER 2005 without having to SPEND EVEN MORE MONEY, JUST TO GET AN UPDATE TO 2005???!!!  THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE TO ME... ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY EXPECT ME TO HAVE TO BUY A WHOLE OTHER "WINDOWS XP-OS MEDIA CENTER EDITION VERSION or WINDOWS Vista" -- JUST TO UPGRADE IT TO MEDIA CENTER EDITION 2005 or BETTER????   I DON'T THINK SO!!!!  Mainly because I, and like many people I know, "Simply Don't Trust Windows Vista" to work properly and have had NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH IT and end up going back to Windows XP.... Especially, for what they want for an OS that most people are NOT SATISFIED WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!  Why would I EVER want to buy "Windows Vista," when Microsoft WON'T EVEN STAND BY AND FULLY SUPPORT WINDOWS XP Software Updates -- For What I feel is Very Unfair and Very POOR Treatment, in Customer Support of My Windows XP Media Center Edition Opperating System's needs - WHEN I SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO HAVE THE SUPPORT I NEED, FOR SOMETHING THAT I'VE ALREADY PAID PLENTY FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! 

I certainly hope that someone can help me to find a way to get me the Update(s) that I need, in order to see IF MY ZUNE PLAYER WILL EVEN WORK PROPERLY!!!!  This REALLY is Very Frustrating to me, that Microsoft is Being SO UNWILLING TO DO RIGHT BY THEIR CUSTOMERS..... IF THEY CONTINUE TO ACT THIS WAY, MY NEXT COMPUTER WILL ENDUP BEING A "MAC" and I WILL PROBABLY NEVER BUY ANOTHER MICROSOFT PRODUCT or PC AGAIN.... So, Microsoft.... PLEASE STOP MAKING EXCUSES AND PROVIDE THE SUPPORT TO YOUR PRODUCTS OR YOU WILL LOSE EVEN MORE PEOPLE TO "APPLE / MAC" PC's!!!!

Does Anyone Else have a problem like mine...???  I'd really like to know and if they ever found any kind of Resolution to this problem -- Thanks for taking the time to read this SERIOUS PROBLEM -- Best of Luck to Everyone with this kind of Problem.
