For this reason, desktop HDDs tend to be 3.5-inches with a maximum capacity of 4TB while laptop HDDs tend to be 2.5-inches with a max capacity of 2TB. Thanks for pointing it out. Their website pages on my (newer) model did not even mention TRIM anywhere. But it is true some games a really large - like if you were playing the new Madden, the new 2K, Witcher 3, Call of Duty... But when all the bits are written to once, if TRIM is not in use they will slow down significantly when writing info to the SSD. USB, even USB Superspeed ("USB 3.0") will never provide end users the data transfer rates that the protocol theoretically offers.

They typically connect using a USB 2.0 cable which caps out at 480 Mb/s, though later models may support USB 3.0 which caps out at 5.0 Gb/s.

I finally decided to do some research into drives intended to be shockproof, not because I abuse drives, but because I figured they'd protect the delicate parts that tend to fail. I was curious as to which one he got and why he got it. The time now is 04:49 AM.

Does a SSD Drive really improve anything? Some models are prone to fail within 6 months while others have average lifespans that exceed 6 years.

Etc. With my 2tb drive, I have every game I own on it, so anytime I feel like playing this game or that game, it is there waiting for me.
