Use the boot override to boot windows. I could not get eSATA to work with my Synology DS410 at first, however; it worked with my desktop. If you start it, someone must win it. Confusingly this is often called an UEFI BIOS but it has nothing to do with a BIOS.
When I first tried hooking it up with the eSata cable, it wasn't recognized. You'd be surprised at how often simply rebooting the modem, checking the connections, or checking the TV settings works to solve a problem. Don't even think about trying a trick like that on Windows, even with third-party apps. I would prefer to use the DVI output, but my TV doesn't have a DVI input.
